305+ Trail Virginia Key – CONGRATS RUNNERS!

We hope you enjoyed unlocking more of Miami with the first ever 305+ event. In the spirit of adventure and with our passion for running, the mission of these new events is to explore new locations, terrains and overall unique experiences in our city, and a night time trail run certainly fits the bill!

We recognize this event brought some participants a little too far off the beaten path, and we sincerely apologize to anyone who may have had an unexpected experience with the race course. We tried something new, and, the unplanned outcome in some instances (namely course markings) was inconsistent with the high standards you’ve come to expect from us. Athlete feedback is extremely important as we evolve our experiences, and so we welcome those affected runners to reach out to us directly with any questions, comments, or to officially update finishing time based on what your personal device recorded at the 5K or 10K marks. We’d also love to hear your other ideas on general improvements and one-of-a-kind events we should consider – please share your voice by taking the participant survey emailed to all Finishers.

In light of continued COVID-19 restrictions, we’re extremely grateful to have been able to host this live event. We look forward to bringing you another exclusive 305+ adventure experience in the VERY near future and hope that you will join us.

Beneficiary – Virginia Key Bicycle Club

Located on the north end of Virginia Key, you’ll find over nine miles of trails built by hand by the dedicated volunteers of the Virginia Key Bicycle Club (VKBC). Once part of a segregated area, then a dredge disposal dumping ground for the construction of the Port of Miami, and thereafter abandoned for two decades, this land was finally transformed in 2011 into a family friendly park surrounded by nature, overlooking Biscayne Bay and the skyline of our magic city.

Solely with the help of private donations, VKCB founder Frenchy Riviere and the 400+ other members of the non-profit continue to preserve the trails they built, using their own wood, golf carts, pavers, and whatever else it takes to keep this outdoor space in top condition for our community to enjoy. 305+ is thrilled to introduce a new way to experience the trails with the first ever night run. A portion of each registration fee will be donated to the VKBC to support their continued work… which currently totals over 21,000 hours of volunteer hours since the trails opened and counting!
